Elder Travis Allen is a chaplain, minister, author, and Bible teacher serving at Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church in Lilburn, Georgia, under the mentorship of Bishop Dr. William L. Sheals. His life and ministry are anchored in a single response to God’s call: “Here I am, Lord; send me.”
Called to preach in 2008, Elder Allen delivered his initial sermon and was ordained in 2012 at Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church. Today he serves as Assistant Director of Ministries at Hopewell MBC, ministering from a philosophy he calls “Retrieved to Retrieve” — serving others from the place of having himself been spiritually found.
He holds a Certificate in Biblical Studies from the City of Hope Bible Institute and a Certificate in Chaplaincy from Aidan University, and serves as a certified and practicing chaplain for the Daystar Convention.
With more than 30 years of ministry service, Elder Allen oversees ministerial candidate development, ordination preparation, and minister accountability at Hopewell. He designs and facilitates the four-module Ministry-in-Training (MIT) Ordination Preparation Course, a Jonah-based curriculum, and develops minister interview frameworks, oversight tools, and quality-tracking systems. He teaches and develops curriculum for the Hopewell Bible Institute and Daystar International, and serves actively in the InTouch, Men of Faith, and Discipleship ministries.
An expository preacher and teacher across many books of Scripture, he has facilitated 12-week virtual Bible studies with 39 or more participants in breakout cohorts and developed multi-week sermon series on Genesis, Exodus, and Jonah.
He is the author of The Jonah in Me: A Journey from Resistance to Obedience Through God’s Relentless Grace (FriesenPress, 2026), the first book in The Unfiltered Series — a biblically grounded exploration of spiritual resistance, divine pursuit, and obedience, accompanied by a sermon series, small-group guide, and ministry leadership training framework.
A regular presenter at national conferences on servant leadership, church leadership, church followship, and church unity, Elder Allen serves as an annual presenter and trainer at the Daystar Convention. His signature messages include the motivational “Reaching Beyond the Break” and the Kingdom Building leadership empowerment session “Know Your Purpose.”
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” (Jeremiah 29:11). Every role Elder Allen holds — minister, chaplain, author, teacher — flows from one conviction: that he has been retrieved so that he might retrieve others. His calling is to help people see themselves honestly in Scripture, encounter the grace that pursues them, and respond in obedience. His motto remains simple: “Here I am, Lord; send me.”
